The Situation

My team and I were tasked with redesigning Hotwire’s emails & programs after their recent rebrand. What started as a simple re-skinning email job, expanded into a brand-building initiative led by my team. We worked with Hotwire to develop new visuals and a voice that established a firmer understanding of their brand.

The Approach

As Art Director on this project, I assembled a team of two designers and a copywriter. We sat down and had meetings with Hotwires marketing and brand team to discuss their new brand and their vision. We then took that information and started the process of redesigning their emails and program. I set up a Bi-weekly check in meetings where we would present our concepts and walk through our designs to Hotwire. The final outcome of the project was a whole new visual look and voice for Hotwires digital presence. We helped them establish their email design brand book and guidelines for future implementations. The hardest part of this project was getting the voice and tone right. We struggled at first but after sitting down with the Hotwire team and taking the time to understand their vision we went back to the drawing board and nailed it.
