My Role
Lead UX/UI Designer
The Project
Aquent is a staffing company that specializes in placing talent in marketing and creative industries. The Boston-based company is among the largest marketing/creative staffing firms in the United States, serving some of the world's largest brands to deliver creative talent. "MyAquent" is a web-based platform that allows Aquent's clients to manage their requests for new candidates and complete maintenance requirements for currently-staffed employees. This project was a complete overhaul and relaunch of an existing client-facing product. I was the lead designer on this product and the sole creator of visual assets, from wireframes to final prototypes.
The Approach
There were two key motivations for redesigning the previous client experience. First, the visual design was quite dated and no longer aligned to the company's brand identity - and second, there was some basic functionality missing from the platform that clients had been requesting for quite some time. Features of the redesigned experience include realtime candidate tracking, requests for new roles, timecard approval and invoice review.
The positions page displays relevant data and status information related to open positions, as well as for currently working employees and completed contracts.
Creating a responsive application was an important requirement of this product and mobile iterations were designed to accommodate all pages and features.
Invoice data and any outstanding account balances are displayed here. Individual invoices are available for review and download.
The timecards page allows clients to review, sign and dispute timecards for their Aquent/VItaminT contract employees.
The Project
The Aquent Invoicing Platform was a business operations project, focused on creating an invoicing tool for the company's billing staff. The tool allows a project manager to create invoices via information pulled from timecards. The draft invoice is sent to a billing specialist for review and ultimately approved and sent to the client. For this product I served as the lead designer and the sole creator of visual assets, from wireframes to final designs.
The Approach
The platform's purpose is to automate a process which was previously done manually via emails between external clients and multiple Aquent employees. Throughout the design process, I worked with my product manager to conduct user interviews of the platform's end users—in this case, Aquent's project managers and operations specialists. From those users we came to understand the platform's requirements and the complexity of the invoicing process.
